- Laurie BowenBridges Program DirectorContact
Laurie has two Bachelor of Science Degrees: one in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Pscyhology from Utah Valley University, and a second in Communication Disorders from Utah State University. She is currently earning an Autism Specialized Studies Certificate through the University of California-Davis.
Laurie began working with children with autism in 2000 as a part-time aide in a home based ABA prgoram. Quickly this part-time job became an interest that changed her education focus and professional goals. Throughout the years, she has worked with several families as a consultant, creating behavioral and education plans.
In 2008 Laurie fulfilled her goal to work with Kids On the Move by joining the staff as an Early Intervention Specialist, where she provided direct in-home and center based services to children with a variety of developmental delays, including Autism. Due to her expertise with direct services to children with autism as well as organizational development, she was selected as the new Bridges Program Director in April 2010.
Laurie has been trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Floortime (DIR), Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), and Best Practices Interventions with Autism.
